Trey Songz got into quite the scuffle this weekend.
R&B star Trey Songz made headlines late Sunday Night during the NFL’s AFC Championship game when cell phone footage appeared to show the singer in a massive altercation with a law enforcement officer. The video showed Trey Songz having the law enforcement officer gripped tight in a headlock chokehold whilst bystanders attempted to break up the altercation.
Trey was eventually taken into custody and details began to emerge throughout the day about the incident. Witnesses stated that the altercation began after security was called on Trey for not following certain stadium COVID-19 guidelines. KCPD was eventually called to deescalate the situation and the fight ensued. Trey Songz put an officer in a take-down headlock, and its also reported that the singer landed a punch to the head on another one of the officers. Witnesses state that the incident became physical after officers became aggressive with the singer and displayed signs of discrimination and racism.
Trey Songz has been charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, and assault on a police officer. He was released on Monday 1/25.
