After a five year hiatus the New Orleans singer-songwriter is back.
It’s been a week since the release of August Alsina’s highly anticipated album The Product III: stateofEMERGEncy. This is his first full-length studio album since This Thing Called Life in 2015. The Product III: stateofEMERGEncy is a continuation of Alsina’s mixtape series, which he began in 2012 with The Product, releasing The Product 2 in 2013.
The project is a concrete body of work expanding for 27 records and boast features from Darrel Walls, Tink, Yo Gotti, Lil Wayne, and Juicy J. He released a documentary series, stateofEMERGEncy: The Rise of August Alsina, via YouTube to accompany the project.
On Tuesday June 30. August released an interview with Angela Yee from The Breakfast Club, where he open up about his healing and how he continues to heal.
While he has been compromised with plenty of battles for an extended period of time, August couldn’t have picked a better time to share his music as he speaks about healing, his continuation to heal, and reflects on issues that are hitting Black America hard right now.
Congratulations August!
