Summertime Shootout 3: The Coldest Summer Ever debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart, earning Fabolous a seventh top 10 effort on the coveted chart.
Fab came with the heat and delivered on Summertime Shootout 3, sounding as young and competitive as ever. The project was released on Nov. 29 via Desert Storm/ Def Jam Recordings, making it his first major release in two years since his joint project Friday on Elm Street with Jadakiss. It is pack with quality features from Meek Mill, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Tory Lanez, Jacquees, DaVido, Ty Dolla $ign, Roddy Ricch, Teyana Taylor, and more.
SS3 bounces back between two topics: relationships and leveling up. “When I say it’s the coldest summer ever, summer is always looked at as a good time but there are times where you’re no longer with someone and it’s not a good time. There are times where you look at summer and there’s a lot going on and then there’s nothing going on. It’s the back and forth between good and bad, hurt and pain, right and wrong. But I feel at the same time I’m also deciphering my story. I wanted to share things that I wouldn’t have before and share my experiences that may help somebody else get through a time that they’re going through. All of those were apart of my process with this one,” he tells HipHopDX.
20 years in the game, Fabolous remains one of the most consistent and legendary rappers from Brooklyn. Summertime Shootout 3 is a mandatory cop!
