D Smoke, the man who took home the win for Netflix competition show Rhythm & Flow is keeping his momentum going beyond the show. In October, the Inglewood rapper dropped his Inglewood High EP. The tape consisted of seven tracks, and in typical D Smoke fashion delivered bars in two languages.
Today he released the video for “Lil’ red.” In an interview with Complex he elaborated on the visuals behind the track saying, “Lil’ Red depicts a premature loss of innocence. It’s a narrative of a kid becoming a product of his environment. It artistically explores the factors that mold a young goon and ultimately leaves the audience to arrive at their own conclusions—whether hopeful or fatalistic.”
