Album Review: Young Thug – UY Scuti

Young Thug’s new album UY Scuti feels like both a victory lap and a therapy session. Named after one of the biggest stars in the universe, the project is ambitious, heavy, and messy in all the ways only Thug can make work.

The highlights hit hard — Miss My Dogs shows him at his most vulnerable, apologizing to old friends and foes, while Money on Money with Future reminds us of the chaotic magic they create together. The guest list is stacked (Cardi B, 21 Savage, T.I.), and producers like Metro Boomin and Wheezy give the project plenty of heat.

Some cuts do tend to feel like filler, and the mixing isn’t always sharp. Plus, with so many features, there are moments where Thug himself gets lost in the noise. Still, when the focus locks in, you get flashes of brilliance that only he can deliver.

UY Scuti isn’t perfect, but it’s a raw, human document of survival — a reminder that Young Thug is still standing, flaws and all.

While it may not be his cleanest album, it’s certainly his most honest.
