Nipsey’s life is remembered and celebrated with a ceremony and one more ‘Victory Lap’ through South Los Angeles.
The Hip Hop world was shook and shattered following the untimely and tragic death of Nipsey Hussle on Sunday, March 31st. Nipsey was shot in front of his own business on Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue and succumbed to his wounds.
The city of L.A. paid respects on April 11 to the late rapper in a ceremony that was showcased to the world. The ceremony was streamed live via multiple outlets and featured appearances from Nipsey’s closest friends and family, including Snoop Dogg and YG. Jhene Aiko and Stevie Wonder performed musical pieces dedicated to Nipsey.
Followed by the ceremony was a procession that took Nipsey through his old stomping grounds in South L.A. The rapper was officially laid to rest on April 12 by his closest loved ones.
